Student Teaching Experience Sponsored by the College of Education, this program allows undergraduate and graduate students at the end of their student teaching experience to take part in an education program in another country for eight credit hours.
   

China

 

Innovation: America and China

This Summer Education and Interdisciplinary Studies Program includes travel to 3 cities in China focusing on history, culture and business. Open to undergraduates and graduates.

Service and Learning in China

A summer, service-oriented program in Beijing and its rural provinces teaching English in impoverished communities. 1-6 directed study credits in Chinese.

 

 

Japan



JCMU: Japan Center for Michigan Universities

A year or semester study program in Japan aimed at building international relationships.  Various areas of study are available requiring no previous language experience.

Summer Homestay Program

Spend two weeks with host families for this Japanese language immersion program.  Explore various cities in Japan and experience contemporary Japanese culture.  Japanese language skills or department approval required.

 

 

Russia



A Month in Moscow at the Moscow Art Theater School

A unique, intensive Theatre program for students studying Acting, Theatre Design & Technology and Directing. Spend 4 weeks during the summer at the Moscow Art Theatre School for credit in THR 5600 or THR 7600.

Russian Language and Culture

A four week summer program to Moscow & St. Petersburg delving into Russian language and culture. Credits earned in Russian Practicum or directed study.

Islam, Secularism, and Democracy in Modern Day Turkey
