Having emerged from behind the Iron Curtain, Russia has once again become a major player in the world community. Spanning across eleven time zones, the expanse of the Russian landscape can only be paralleled by the rich historical and cultural contributions made by its people. The Department of German and Slavic Studies invites you to spend a month in Moscow this summer and see for yourself why Russia's well-developed and unique cultural identity continues to flourish.
An immersion as such will dig into your psychology, further shaping your intellect within the contexts of Russian language and culture. You'll see your language skills improve exponentially as you'll be challenged to use them around the clock.
As part of your practicum experience, you will live in Russia for four weeks at the dorms of Moscow State University in Moscow where you will receive instruction in Russian language and culture. You will be taken on outings to museums, historical landmarks and other culturally important places and events in the Moscow area, as well as St. Petersburg. You will also spend a night in a Russian village.
