Credit for WSU short-term programs varies. Depending on the program,
students can obtain 1-8 credits in the program’s appropriate
subject area. Programs are offered in collaboration with WSU academic
departments as well as institutions abroad and combine academic
study with a cross-cultural learning experience in a foreign environment.
Students interested in WSU short-term study abroad programs must
register in the appropriate course in order to participate in the
travel component of the program. This credit functions as credit
earned on campus.
The number and type of credit offered by other U.S. and foreign
institutions vary. In order to determine how credit earned at a
non-WSU program will transfer to Wayne State University, students
should contact University Office of Admissions, Transfer Credit
Evaluation at 577-3577 or their faculty advisor to determine policies
regarding acceptance of credits. Students are advised to obtain
approval for transfer credits earned through study abroad evaluated
prior to enrollment in a non-WSU sponsored study abroad program.
