Getting Started

The Study Abroad Office is dedicated to working with students interested in study abroad programs. However, we understand that there are times when the needs of our students cannot be met by our existing programs. Therefore, we will work with any WSU student to ensure they have the best possible study abroad experience. You are encouraged to:

Explore WSU Programs
The advantages of participating on a WSU sponsored program include:

  • WSU offers a variety of Semester, Year-long & Short-term Programs
  • Direct registration into WSU courses-there is no need to worry about transferring credits from another institution
  • Knowledgeable WSU faculty and staff to provide support during program

Make an Appointment to Discuss Your Options
The Study Abroad Office and Resource Center maintains information on all current and future WSU sponsored study abroad programs. Additionally, the office has:

  • Bulletins and catalogs on programs offered by other U.S. and foreign institutions
  • Reference books on study abroad, including financial resources
  • Computer to search the World Wide Web

Start Early
Students interested in study abroad programs should plan early. You will want to apply as early as possible (6-12 months prior to the start of the program). Applying early allows you to coordinate WSU financial aid and apply for other non-WSU grants and scholarships.
